This morning, Nathan was playing angry birds on his iPod. He insisted on Smokey, our cat, to play with him. So, what did he do to get him to play?? The only thing he could do, grab his back foot and used it to tap the screen, why of course. And he actually beat a level doing it that way :) Nathan was so happy. He kept telling smokey that he beat level to and that he was such a smart cat!! My boy is so sweet and funny. Love him!!!
( this did end in a little scratch to the arm though. The cat can only tolerate so much!)

Just a little something I always want to remember about Nathan....
Lately, when he either wants something his way or knows he is doing something bad, he will say " oh, sorry....." whether it be for example... today he grabbed his nasal saline out of his little medicine bag... Unscrewed the cap and said " oh, sorry but I'm gonna SPRAY!!!!" and away he DID!
Or another example, when it comes to bedtime, we have put up a fight with him pretty much since he was born with him going to sleep. He hates bedtime!! But, when we tell him it's time for bed he will say something like " oh, sorry. But I'm not tired" or " oh sorry, but I'm not ready for bed" ( and then Kyle and I take turns putting him back in bed for at least an hour ( EVERY NIGHT)... But that's a whole other post ;)
I love that he thinks if he says sorry then he doesn't have to do it, or it's not right. I love the way 3 year olds think :)
( and seriously!!! How many commas did I just use!?!! I'm sure I used most of them in the wrong place too ;) )

Please lift this little girl up in pray!
I just recently learned about this little girl through twitter. I haven't read her whole story. But I believe she is 5 months old and living with SMA. She doesn't have too much long to live, unless a miracle happens!
You can follow this families journey, and watch them check off their bucket list for her.

Best friends
Tonight we went our to our friends house to hang out. They have 4 kids together and Nathan loves going over there to hang out with them.
Tonight Ethan, ( pictured above with Nathan) said that Nathan was going to be his best friend. He put his hand on the back of Nathan's head and was rubbing it, ha( but Nathan does have the perfect big head to rub) and even gave him a little smooch too, ha!
I love that he has somebody to call a friend. And these two boys are like 2 peas in a pod! They pretty much love all the same stuff, although Ethan is almost 2 years older than him.
I makes my heart very happy to see these two playing together! And I think it's because their daddies are best friends too :)
This is the best part of growing up.... Seeing your children become friends with your friends children.

My mini me
It is crazy to think how much Nathan and I are alike! When I sit back at the end of the day and think about all the things he did, good or bad, I see so much of myself in his actions or words.
He is a super picky, crazy, loud, funny, lovable, kind, little boy.
But he has his naughty side too. Like talking back, sometimes hitting, getting out of bed approximately 1 million times each and every night at bedtime.
I have one very strong quality. And that quality would be that I am very persistent. My husband loves that about me. He loves that if there is something I want, or something that I believe, I don't stop until I get it! Well Nathan has that quality too! It's not so great when a 3 year old has this quality though.
We are having a major power struggle in the Soller house!!!
Time to watch some super nanny I think :)
( I am so paying for the way I was with my mom as a kid)

Finally, some pictures!!
yet another beautiful day today! I'm loving spending so much time outside with my boy.
We play baseball and catch. And water the trees and plants that made it from last year.
I sure do love this boy!
Making silly faces.
Blowing bubbles.
Kind of hoping it rains tomorrow so my hubby gets off work early... And to wash away to pollen!!

Loving this weather
I don't know what the weather is like where you are at. But here in NWA, it is BEAUTUFUL!!!!
Kyle has every other Monday off right now, so he stayed at home with Nathan while I went to Walmart. I took my time, and even looked outside in the garden area for flowers :) I love this time of year!! I ended up buying just a little 6 pack of bright colors Pansy's.
I can't wait till our annual trip to lowes to buy flowers for the flower bed, and maybe pick up a few shrubs this year. nathan and I planted and watered them, and Kyle even mowed the yard today!
I'm just praying for a nice mild spring and summer! I can't take another year of extreme weather!!
This whole week is supposed to be warm. I'm so excited. I hope you are getting to see some of this pretty weather too!

On the mend.
Thank goodness we are all starting to feel a little better around here. First it started off with my poor little boy getting an upper respiratory infection. I think Kyle caught it too. However, I believe I had a sinus infection. I still can't breathe through my nose very well, but I'm not feeling like death.
We very rarely get sick around here. It isn't only hard on us, but it was hard on our cat too. He is use to getting so much attention from me during the day, but I hardly paid any attention to him over the last week and half. He is so happy that we are feeling well. He is currently curled up at the end of our bed snoozing away while I type this.
YAY for health!!!! Now I'm ready for the nice weather that we should be having next week. I'm ready for some trips to the park or even just playing outside.

Today, while I was out, I decided to finally mail my sister in law her grocery bag holder that I made for her. While standing in line at the post office, I noticed a woman with two boys. One boy didn't have a shirt on, and neither one of them where wearing shoes! And I must admit, I stood there and judged her. I hate that I did, but the boys were being loud, hanging all over the counter and just being annoying. You could tell the mom felt that all eyes were on her. Well fast forward to me getting in my car, I noticed that neither boy was buckled up( they were at least 6 or 7 years old by the way) so I motioned for her to roll the window down and said" your children aren't buckled up!?" and she said " no, no they aren't" then rolled up the window and turned around and said something to them. She then rolled the window back down and asked me if I would say something to them, because they weren't listening to her.
I told the boys that my brother had died in a car accident when he was just 11 years old, and that he wasn't wearing a seat belt and that it would be really sad if anything happened to them because they weren't wearing theirs. The lady whispered " thank you" back to me and drove off.
I'm glad I was at the post office today.
I'm glad I'm the type of person that speaks up.
I prayed for her as I drove home.

A little too late
Wow, having Nathan back to his crazy self after him being sick and quiet and calm for a few days made me realize how much I've screwed up as a parent! I've babied him so much since I knew he would be our only child. And boy has it really kicked me in the butt!
After taking him to the doctor, and her pointing out that his behavior is not normal for a 3 year old, I've really opened my eyes.
He refuses to listen to me. When I try to talk to him, he just talks back to me in a high pitched voice, or just completely ignores me! I have never really been one to read parenting books, maybe that's where I screwed up, and sadly I don't have a lot of friends to get parenting advice from.
So if any of the few followers I have, have any advice for me... I'd love to hear! I'm desperate!!!

Under the weather
My poor baby, well technically big boy, has been so sick! He started running a fever Sunday night. We got him a doctors appointment first thing Monday morning. He has( at least that's what the doctor THINKS) an upper respiratory infection. He has been whispering and coughing the past few days. It's so sad! He has only been sick with ear infections 2 times in his 3 years of life. This morning he woke up and started throwing up all over the place. Thank goodness my husband has the type of job where he can take off when I need him to! After he threw up a few more times he was back to his old crazy, loud self again. Although he still has a cough, he is acting much better and his appetite is slowly coming back!
Kyle and I don't handle him being sick very well. I almost started crying when Nathan finally stated acting " normal" again. I really missed him being all crazy and loud :)

Is he or isn't he?...
We have been working on potty training with Nathan for a WHILE! I don't consider him potty trained yet because he never tells us when he needs to go and he doesn't help with any of the pulling down his pants and undies... He just stands there. We ask him several times throughout the day, most of the time he says he doesn't need to go, when he really he does need to. He only goes on either the big potty with a potty ring( only #1 though) and only goes number #2 on his frog shaped potty( Fisher price brand)
Here lately he has been going #2 in his pants and not telling us. It is so frustrating. He knows how to hold his pee( if he doesn't want to stop playing something) and he hasn't had an accident in a LONG TIME! I just can't get him to tell us when he needs to go, or just goes by him self!
Does anyone have any suggestions??!!
Love, Jayme

Trying to make a comeback
So I just got the blogger app on my phone. I'm hoping that having it be RIGHT there will help me keep up with blogging.
Nathan has really grown up here lately. He is reading, practicing writing letters and numbers and is just all in all a super smart little boy. A very tricky, smart little boy. It is hard to get anything by him, and he is quick with the come backs when it comes to convince him to do something.
Well I know I have very few readers, but this will all be pretty much all for my memory :)
