Today, while I was out, I decided to finally mail my sister in law her grocery bag holder that I made for her. While standing in line at the post office, I noticed a woman with two boys. One boy didn't have a shirt on, and neither one of them where wearing shoes! And I must admit, I stood there and judged her. I hate that I did, but the boys were being loud, hanging all over the counter and just being annoying. You could tell the mom felt that all eyes were on her. Well fast forward to me getting in my car, I noticed that neither boy was buckled up( they were at least 6 or 7 years old by the way) so I motioned for her to roll the window down and said" your children aren't buckled up!?" and she said " no, no they aren't" then rolled up the window and turned around and said something to them. She then rolled the window back down and asked me if I would say something to them, because they weren't listening to her.
I told the boys that my brother had died in a car accident when he was just 11 years old, and that he wasn't wearing a seat belt and that it would be really sad if anything happened to them because they weren't wearing theirs. The lady whispered " thank you" back to me and drove off.
I'm glad I was at the post office today.
I'm glad I'm the type of person that speaks up.
I prayed for her as I drove home.
